Fall Field Trip "Keep on Growing" Teacher Portal

On-Farm Visits: Prepare for your Visit

About one week out, we will contact you to finalize numbers and send you your e-invoice.

You can see a map of our field trip activities and notes about the activities here.

Many schools will bring a plastic bag with student's names to carry home the pumpkin. If you purchased the snack, the apple shaped cups that the children will receive are reusable to take home as a souvenir. You may want to add these to their bags, or bring a label with children's names to place on the cup.

Make sure to watch our version of 'Pumpkin School', the Keep on Growing Pumpkin Video Tour before your visit with your students. There will not be an educational program on-site provided by our staff, but this video allows you to learn all about pumpkins, gourds, and squash before your visit. Scroll down the page for lots of other educational activities that you can tie into your trip.

Make sure you and your fellow teachers are ready for the trip by watching this quick 3-minute video that gives you a rundown about how your trip will run.

Virtual Field Trips: Prepare for your Virtual Day

Even though we won't get to see you on the farm, we have lots of great fun and learning for your class.

First, your food, pumpkins, and extra classroom activities will be available for pickup by 9am on the day of your reservation. You will need to send one person with a big enough vehicle for all the pumpkins. If you need to increase numbers, please contact fieldtrips@skellysfarmmarket.com at least 48 hours in advance.

For reference, a cardboard box like the grocery store sells melons from holds about 100 of our field trip pumpkins. We'll have your pumpkins counted out in a bulk bin, and we can help hand load them into your vehicle if needed. If you don't want to haul all those pumpkins into school, you can always setup a 'pumpkin patch' out on the playground at school!

Food will be in bakery boxes. If cider won't be consumed until afternoon, we recommend finding a refrigerator for it.

When booking, you also ordered either storybooks or pumpkins for each classroom.

Each student will also get a voucher for 1 free youth ticket to our corn mazes and wagon rides.

Additionally, make sure to take advantage of all the online resources below. At a minimum, we highly recommend our Growing with Skelly's Pumpkin Video Tour that teaches kids all about pumpkins with Farmer Scott, one of the farmers at Skelly's. You can complete lessons on the day of your 'trip' or anytime that works for your class.
