What's in season?
What we grow, what we sell, and when to expect those items

We grow around 100 acres of fresh produce that are harvested from June through October. We know it's hard to figure out when each item is in season, so we hope the information on this page can answer those questions!

As produce supply changes with the seasons and the cost to grow and maintain crops increases, we are constantly updating prices. Please note that all prices listed below are approximate and subject to change. All items listed under "Skelly Grown Produce" are grown on our farm. Some items might not be available at all roadside stand locations. Call the farm to confirm availability.

Skelly Grown Produce

Strawberries

  • Available mid-June through early July

  • Sold only at the farm

  • This is the only crop we grow that is a perennial

Sweet Corn

  • Available early July through early September

  • Sold at the farm and roadside stands

  • 2024 prices: $7/doz., $4.50/half doz., $1/ear

Muskmelon

  • Available late July through mid-September

  • Sold at the farm and roadside stands

  • 2023 prices: $4-$6 each, depending on varieties

  • For a longer shelf life, pick a melon with a greener skin and let it ripen on your counter

Watermelon

  • Available early August through late September

  • Sold at the farm and roadside stands

  • 2023 prices: $6-$9 each, depending on size

  • All melons are picked ripe and ready to eat

​

Tomatoes

  • Available late June through late September

  • Sold at the farm and roadside stands

  • 2024 prices: $3.95/lb.

  • Our early tomatoes are grown directly in the ground under our hoop houses, just as they are grown outside

  • We sometimes have an oversupply and sell in bulk. Call the farm for prices and availability! 608-757-1200

​Cucumbers

  • Available early July through late August

  • Sold at the farm and roadside stands

  • 2024 prices: $1.50 each

Zucchini and Summer Squash

  • Available early July through late August

  • Sold at the farm and roadside stands

  • 2024 prices: $1.50 each​​

​

Green Peppers

  • Available late July through mid-August

  • Sold at the farm

  • 2023 prices: $.75-$1.50 each, depending on size

  • We only harvest peppers once per week, so our supply is generally smaller

Pumpkins

  • Available early September through Halloween

  • Sold at the farm only

  • 2023 prices: $.45/lb. for orange carving, other varieties vary

​

Fall Squash

  • Available mid-September through Halloween

  • Sold at the farm only

  • 2023 prices: $.80/lb.

  • We grow many different varieties including butternut, acorn, spaghetti, and more

Yellow and Red Onions

Red and White Potatoes

  • Available mid-June through late August

  • Sold at the farm and roadside stands

  • 2024 prices: $6.50/large bag, $4.50/small bag

​Green Beans

  • Available mid-July through mid-August

  • Sold at the farm and roadside stands

  • 2024 prices: $3-$3.50/lb.

  • We try to get Wisconsin grown beans as often as possible, but some of the time they are from Michigan

Blueberries

  • Available mid-June through late August

  • Sold at the farm and roadside stands

  • 2024 prices: $4.00/pint (can vary seasonally)

Cherries

  • Available mid-June through early August

  • Sold at the farm and roadside stands

  • 2024 prices: $7.99/lb. (can vary seasonally)

  • Most of the cherries we sell come from Washington when in season. We try to get ahold of Rainier cherries for a short time too. Call the farm for availability on those.

Peaches

  • Available mid-June through late August

  • Sold at the farm and roadside stands

  • 2024 prices: $2.50/lb. (can vary seasonally)

  • We sell peaches from across the country as the season changes. We try to grab peaches from Colorado, Missouri, Michigan, and Georgia for the best flavor!

**We will supplement with shipped in tomatoes, watermelon, muskmelon, cucumbers, and green peppers when our fields are not keeping up with demand. It's always best to call the farm to double check location of our produce!
