Planning Your Fall Visit to Skelly's
There is a lot to do at Skelly's, and we want to help you
enjoy your visit. Here are some of the most frequent questions
that we get.
When are you open?
Our fall season starts in mid-September and runs through
Halloween day. We are open 7 days a week from 9 a.m. until 6
p.m. All activities must be done by 6.
How much does it cost to get into
the farm?
We do not charge an admission to enter our farm. Some
activities are free, and others have a small fee. Visit our
activities page for prices
and more information.
How much is parking?
We have plenty of free, onsite parking in our gravel and
grass lots.
Do you have a petting zoo?
Since we serve food on-site, we feel it is the safest for us
not to have any animals. However, we still have many other
activities.
What age are the activities for?
We have activities for all ages from the corn box for young
children to the pumpkin slingshot for older children. Our two
corn mazes are designed to meet any age and adventure level.
Wagon rides are a great activity for the whole family.
Can we go pick a pumpkin in the
field?
Yes, we have acres of pick-your-own pumpkins. If you do not
want to go into the field, we have plenty of pumpkins for sale
around our barn.
Can we bring in a picnic lunch?
While we do not restrict carry in food, we encourage you to
choose from our wide selection of
kitchen items. We do not charge admission to our farm and
provide many free activities because of your support of
purchasing the products we sell. If you do carry in food that
generates much waste (for groups), we ask that you take the
waste with you. By law, alcoholic beverages on not permitted on
our property.
When is the best time to visit
if I just want to shop the gift shop or pick out fall
decorations?
If you want to shop our gift barn and farm and not fight the
crowds, remember that our farm is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. everyday
from mid-September through Halloween. Fair weathered weekend
afternoons in October are usually our busiest days.
Do you close in bad weather?
We are usually open in all weather. Most areas are grassy or
paved around our barn. Our corn maze is typically packed down
after our first week. It may be sticky after a rain but you will not sink
into the mud. Otherwise, we are open sun or rain, cold or heat.
What type of clothes should we wear?
While we work hard to keep our farm as neat as possible,
remember that you will be visiting a farm. You may want to leave
your new expensive shoes at home. Comfortable walking shoes are
great and dress in layers as the day may warm up.
Do you have restrooms on site?
We have wheelchair accessible flush bathrooms in our barn with baby
changing stations. We also have portable toilets outside.
Are you facilities wheelchair
accessible?
Much of our facilities are wheelchair accessible. Our barn
has access ramps. Much of our grassy area can be accessed with
some wheelchairs. Some of our past customers have pushed a
wheelchair through some our corn maze, but this can be a lot of
work.
Are you open at night?
No, we are never open after 6 p.m.
Do you have any haunted attractions?
No, our farm focuses on the fun of the fall harvest and we
do not have any haunted attractions. However, we still have many
other attractions that appeal
to all age groups.
Do you do field trips or group
events?
Yes, we do field trips during the week and many other group
events. Visit our fieldtrip,
group, or
birthday party page for more information.
Can we smoke on your farm or bring
alcohol?
Fall is a dry season on the farm, even after a rain. PLEASE
do not smoke on our farm, including in our parking lot. By law,
alcohol is not permitted on our farm.
How do I get to your farm?
We are located about 3 miles southwest of Janesville. Visit
our directions page for more
information.
