Fall FAQs

We get a lot of questions asked through social media and phone calls, so we’re hoping this page can help answer a lot of your basic questions.

When are you open?

Our fall season starts in mid-September and runs through Halloween, October 31st. We are open all summer as well, but our fall activities start to appear after Labor Day. We are open 7 days a week from 9 am until 6 pm. Last maze entries are at 5 pm and the last wagon ride departs at 5:30 pm on weekends. We no longer offer the corn maze at night.

How much does it cost to get into the farm?

We do not charge an admission to enter our farm (that’s right, you can walk onto our property FOR FREE!). Some activities are free, and others are pay-as-you-go. Visit our activities page for prices and more information.

How much is parking?

We have plenty of free, on-site parking in our gravel and grass lots.

Do you have a petting zoo?

We do not have any animals on our farm. We feel it’s better to keep it this way since we serve a variety of food on our property.

What age are the activities for?

A lot of our activities can be enjoyed by all age-levels. Have young kids? Take them to our playground and let them play in our corn box or run through our obstacle course. Have older kids? Time them to see how fast they can get through our Impossible Maze without looking at a map. All of our activities are free for children under three years. Take the whole family on a Choose-Your-Farm-Adventure Wagon Ride!

I don’t like waiting in line for donuts and being limited on how many I can buy on the weekends. Can I order ahead?

Yes! Please do! We do our best to keep our weekend lines moving at our bakery, and we sometimes cannot keep up with the demand for donuts so we have to limit customers. Remember, we NEVER have lines during the week, so come visit us for donuts then! You can place orders for donuts or any other baked goods by calling the farm (608-757-1200) and asking for Laura. All orders must be placed at least 24 hours ahead of time.

Can we go pick a pumpkin in the field?

Yes, we have 2 acres of pick-your-own pumpkins. If you do not want to go into the field, we have plenty of pumpkins for sale around our barn. All of our pumpkin patches are located within walking distance of our barn.

Can we bring in a picnic lunch?

While we do not restrict carry in food for individuals, we encourage you to choose from our wide selection of kitchen items. We do not charge admission to our farm and provide many free activities because of your support of purchasing the products we sell. Groups, parties, and special events wishing to carry-in or cater food must rent a facility. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on our property except with exempted private events. Visit our groups page for more information.

When is the best time to visit if I just want to shop the gift shop or pick out fall decorations?

If you want to shop our gift barn and not fight the crowds, remember that our farm is open 9 am to 6 pm DAILY through Halloween. Sunny weekends in October are always our busiest days and there are usually lines throughout our gift barn. We highly recommend coming during the week to browse in a calmer atmosphere (we also don’t have lines for donuts!).

Do you close in bad weather?

We have never closed for the entire day due to weather before. If the weather gets really bad, we might close a couple hours early, but that rarely (if ever) happens. Most areas are grassy or paved around our barn. Our corn mazes are typically packed down after our first week. It may be sticky after a rain, but you will not sink into the mud. We also sell a lot of our products inside our barn, and unless there’s a rain cloud inside the barn, it’s always dry inside. Expect us to be open, rain or shine, cold or heat.

What type of clothes should we wear?

While we work hard to keep our farm as neat as possible, remember that you will be visiting a working farm. You may want to leave your designer shoes at home. Comfortable walking shoes are great and dress in layers as the day may warm up or cool down.

Do you have restrooms on site?

We have wheelchair accessible flush bathrooms in our barn with baby changing stations. We also have portable toilets outside scattered on our property.

Are your facilities wheelchair and stroller accessible?

All of our facilities are wheelchair/stroller accessible. Some people are even brave enough to push them through the corn mazes. Our grassy areas are bumpy but accessible. We have ramps coming into our barn in the front and on the side. The only activity that is not wheelchair/stroller friendly is our wagon ride (you must be able to walk up stairs).

Are you open at night?

We no longer offer a night maze option in October. We close at 6 pm every day. All guests must be off our property at this time.

Do you have any haunted attractions?

No, our farm focuses on the fun of the fall harvest and we do not have any haunted attractions. Please keep it that way.

Do you do field trips or group events?

Yes, we do field trips during the week and many other group events. Visit our field trip or group party page for more information. We do not offer a special birthday party package, but our normal group rates and rental facilities are available for birthday parties with the qualifying number of participants.

Are pets allowed?

Dogs are allowed in outdoor areas, but they must be on a leash no longer than 3 feet and under complete owner control at all times. Please be respectful of other guests and understand that not every guest likes dogs. Dogs are not allowed within 50 ft of any food area, in the store or bakery area, on playground equipment, or on the wagon rides. Please clean up any messes your dog makes. No other animals are allowed.

Can we use your farm for taking photos?

Please see our photo policy here.

Can we smoke on your farm or bring alcohol?

Fall is a dry season on the farm, even after a rain. PLEASE refrain from smoking on our property. If you absolutely must smoke, you MUST be INSIDE YOUR VEHICLE. Alcohol is not permitted on our farm unless with a signed agreement for a private party.

How do I get to your farm?

We are located on the southwest side of Janesville, WI. See sidebar for a Google Maps location of our farm. Our address is 2713 South Hayner Road, Janesville, WI 53548.
