Employment
Our 2012 applications will be available
starting in April or May for June, July, and August employment.
While we are a family business, we need a team
of employees to help us bring our products to the public. Do you
want to be a part of our unique team? Apply today! We hire for
both the summer months and our fall season. Our first round
applications in 2012 will be for our summer season.
We grow strawberries, sweet corn, tomatoes, and other
vegetables which are sold both on our farm and at roadside
stands, and we need help picking and selling the produce.
If you enjoy working outdoors, working with the public, and are
personable and dependable, this is a good summer job for you.
Job Description: The job would consist of two 'seasons' during the summer.
If hired, you would be expected to work for both seasons. We are
open seven days a week and you would be expected to work a
variety of weekdays and weekends.
Strawberries: Help is needed starting in early to mid-June
with the strawberries. You will help show
customers where to pick in the fields, sort pre-picked berries,
assist with our picking crew, and assist customers with
check-out. Some days you may also work at one of our remote
stands. Hours would be 4-8 hour shifts between 6:45 am and
7 pm, with 25-40 hours a week. This job will run from
around June 10 to July 1.
Sweet corn: This season would start around July 4. You would
drive one of our trucks to the stand location (different areas
around Rock County), set up and sell produce all day, before
returning the truck in the evening. Hours would be
9:30-6:30, with 36-45 hours a week. You MUST have a valid
driver's license with a good driving record. This job will
run though the end of August, or as long a you can work before
going back to school.
While most positions require a valid drivers license to
complete required work, we do occasionally hire workers younger
than 16 or persons without a drivers license. These people are
still encouraged to fill out an application and we will notify
you if a position becomes available. Please note that we
currently do not have any openings for these positions, but we
will keep any applications on file through the 2011 season.
Please do not email regarding employment. All questions
should be directed by phone at (608) 757-1200.
Timeline: Positions will begin in early to
mid June. We will not start our first round of hiring until
