2013 Current Hiring Status: We are now hiring for June through Labor Day or beyond. Due to the cold spring we are currently anticipating a first day between June 10-20th. Please carefully read position descriptions before applying.

Please note that we have not yet started any interviews and will not do so until at least the middle of May.

Summer Positions

We grow strawberries, sweet corn, tomatoes, and other vegetables which are sold both on our farm and at roadside stands, and we need help picking and selling the produce. If you enjoy working outdoors, working with the public, and are personable and dependable, this is a good summer job for you.

Retail Sales/Stands Person

Job Description: The job would consist of two 'seasons' during the summer. If hired, you would be expected to work for both seasons. We are open seven days a week and you would be expected to work a variety of weekdays and weekends.

Strawberries: Help is needed starting in early June with the strawberries. You will help show customers where to pick in the fields, sort pre-picked berries, assist with our picking crew, and assist customers with check-out. Some days you may also work at one of our remote stands. Hours would be 4-8 hour shifts between 6:45 am and 7 pm, with 25-40 hours a week. Due to a cold spring in 2013, this job will run from mid-June until early July.

Sweet corn: This season will start in early July. You would drive one of our pick-up trucks to the stand location (different areas around Rock County), set up and sell produce all day, before returning the truck in the evening. Hours would be 9:30-6:30, with 36-45 hours a week. You MUST have a valid driver's license with a good driving record. This job will run through the end of August, or as long a you can work before going back to school.

While most positions require a valid drivers license to complete required work, we do occasionally hire workers younger than 16 or persons without a drivers license. These people are still encouraged to fill out an application and we will notify you if a position becomes available. Please note that we currently do not have any openings for these positions, but we will keep any applications on file through the 2013 season.

Requirements: Must have a valid driver's license. Must have open availability to work any shifts as described above until school resumes in fall. Applicants must be able to work long hours on their feet, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in hot conditions all day depending on the weather.

Specialty Bakery Cook

Job Description: This position is flexible for hours. Shift lasts 4-6 hours and may begin anytime from 7 pm - 10 pm. Duties involve baking, packaging, and cleanup. Applicant must be at least 18 years old. Must be able to work independently, be self motivated and work almost all Friday nights from July-October. This position requires independent workers that can complete tasks on their own once trained. Additional hours may be available on weekday or weekend mornings. Only one position for this area is available, but it can make a great second job or be combined with other normal daytime hours.

Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be available almost every Friday night from mid-May through October 2013.


Field/Harvesting Labor

Job Description: This position works with our hand field work and harvesting. This is by far our most strenuous work and workers must be able to work hard, lift up to 75 pounds, and work in hot conditions. Most hours occur between 7 am and noon. Please note that very few new employees are hired for this area each year as we have a low turnover in this area.

Requirements: Must be at least 15 years old and able to perform the physical tasks.
